Overview
Y305-4421 runs local PLC programs with 4 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs. It also provides 2 analog inputs and 1 analog output for 0–10 V signals.
How it works & selection
The module executes a local PLC program. Optional RS485 ports provide Modbus RTU master/slave or non-protocol RS communication according to the supplied hardware and configuration.
Output and communication
Specify relay or NPN transistor output hardware and the required RS485 port count. Availability depends on the ordered hardware combination. Relay and transistor outputs are different hardware.
Relay outputs cannot generate high-speed pulses. Confirm the required channels and rates for high-speed counting or pulse output against the supplied hardware.
Analog signal
The analog channels use 0–10 V signals. Do not connect a 4–20 mA loop directly or apply an external voltage to the analog output. Confirm input impedance, output load, accuracy and reference limits for the supplied hardware.
Load and installation
Check the output voltage, load category, common-terminal and derating limits for the selected hardware before connecting a load. NPN outputs are for DC loads only.
Y305 is not a safety PLC. Provide independent safety functions and test startup, STOP, power loss and communication recovery with loads isolated.
Technical specifications
| Digital I/O | 4 DI + 4 DO |
|---|---|
| Analog I/O | 2 AI + 1 AO, 0–10 V |
| Output hardware | Relay or optional NPN transistor |
| Communication | Up to 2 optional RS485 ports |
| Power supply | 24 VDC nominal |
I/O and communication
| Digital inputs | 4; dry contact or compatible sinking signal |
|---|---|
| Digital outputs | 4; relay or optional NPN transistor |
| Analog I/O | 2 AI + 1 AO, 0–10 V |
| Communication | Up to two optional RS485 ports; Modbus RTU master/slave or non-protocol RS communication |
| Programming | GX Works2 with an FX3U-style device/instruction model; use the setup specified for the supplied hardware and firmware |
| RTC | Standard; verify clock accuracy, backup and power-loss recovery |
Electrical
| Power supply | 24 VDC nominal; confirm permitted range and consumption |
|---|---|
| Digital input arrangement | S/S to +24 V; Xn to 0 V through a dry contact or compatible sinking signal |
| Relay output | Stated ceiling: 5 A at AC 220 V or DC 30 V, subject to load conditions |
| NPN transistor output | Stated ceiling: 3 A; verify output voltage and load ratings; DC loads only |
| Analog signal | 2 AI + 1 AO; 0–10 V; 12-bit raw range 0–4095 |
These output ceilings do not establish continuous per-channel, common-terminal, inductive-load, inrush, or simultaneous-load ratings. RS and ADPRW cannot operate simultaneously.
